About Office of the Head of the Department
The role of this office is to promote economic development, good governance, social progress and improving living standards through accountability, efficiency, equity and sustainability of the public finance.
Functions
To provide administration support services
To build capacity in risk management within the department and provide support and guidance to implement the framework
To create and maintain conditions of security in the department and be accountable to all security matters
Manage Departmental Information Technology Service
Ensure provision of professional advice and support of the MEC for Finance on Provincial Economic Analysis, Fiscal Policy Public Finance Development and management of the annual budget
Ensure provision policy direction, facilitate the effective and efficient management of assets, liabilities and financial management systems
Promote accountability through substantive reflection of activities as well as compliance with financial norms and standards
Ensure provision of leadership, strategic management in accordance with legislation, regulation and policies as well as to ensure that there is appropriate support services to all other programmes
Promote the implementation and compliance of Municipalities and Public Entities
Ensure the provision of an effective corporate support services to the department
Ensure the rendering of assurance and consulting services relating to the evaluation of an adequacy and effectiveness of FSPT’s Internal Control and Governance process
